As is common knowledge, winter has different characteristics depending on the city. In some, it is humid and rains a lot – hello, London! With this, the clothes chosen for each area cannot, in any way, be the same.

The climate crucially influences the choice of winter clothes. It would help if you opted for moisture-resistant or waterproof clothing for the most humid places (with rain and snow). On the other hand, when the wind is intense, I prefer windproof clothes.

In addition, it is necessary to take into account its thermal sensitivity. If you are more sensitive, heavier clothes will need to warm you up satisfactorily. Winter Clothes: Thermal Clothing

We recommend that the piece is used primarily in cases where the thermometer shows less than 8°C. However, if you are more sensitive to the cold, use can already be done when the cold is below 10°C. Winter Clothes: Sweaters

In mild cold weather, you can wear short-sleeved or long-sleeved blouses of lightweight fabric (cotton, low-density acrylic thread, mesh) with a coat on top. Another option is to choose knitted blouses (high-density acrylic yarn, polyamide) and not use the skin. However, if the temperature is above 15°C, a thinner blouse may be more comfortable because indoors, it’s easy to take off your coat and stay comfortable.

Always choose acrylic, wool, cashmere or plush sweatshirts in moderate cold. Acrylic, wool, or cashmere blouses are excellent in intense cold, especially with a turtleneck. Avoid those cold sweaters made with cotton

Winter Clothes: Coats

For winter, the types of coats are the most diverse and suitable for the most varied temperatures, from mild to intense cold. Of course, the choice will depend on the temperature at the trip’s destination, so it is worth paying attention to the weather forecast there. For mild cold weather (above 12°C), you should opt for a light coat, cardigan or mid-season blazer. In moderate cold (between 5°C and 12°C), opt for coats made of polyester, Italian wool, double neoprene or leather with a plush lining. In the intense cold (below five °C), I prefer polyester coats with plush lining (such as the Loudoun models) and Italian or Uruguayan wool coats.

Winter Clothes: Pants And Leggings

When it comes to pants and leggings, we also categorize them according to the type of cold. For the mild cold, wear everyday pants – twill, leggings, sweatshirt – with something underneath, such as tights or knit pants if you want to wear just one layer. In moderate cold, choose leggings or straight-leg pants with elastane in the composition, combined with acrylic or polyester. The sweatshirt is also a good choice if you are less sensitive – men in particular.

Finally, in the intense cold, forget the jeans! Instead, opt for acrylic pants or leggings such as Legging Premium, velvet or polyamide such as Legging Nevasca – in addition to being comfortable, they are less porous yarns for the cold to pass through. For men: wear pants with thick fleece, wool, or sweatpants fabrics.

Winter Clothes: Skirts, Vest Leggings And Dresses

In mild cold, opt for a long-sleeved or short-sleeved dress with a coat on top. In moderately cold weather, wear a pair of 260 thread-length tights over the thermal when wearing a skirt or dress. In intense cold, finally, wear acrylic socks over thermal pants, which look like wool socks. In all cases, don’t forget your tights and thermal pants.

Winter Clothes: Cold Weather Accessories

In the mild cold, you should choose lighter accessories: berets, hats, scarves, pashminas and autumn gloves. The moderate cold, in turn, already requires more excellent protection: wear hats, thermal bands (if you are more sensitive to the cold), scarves, pashminas and gloves (they can be thermal or leather). Finally, in intense cold, gather the most potent cold accessories: thermal socks, wool insoles, hat and ear protectors, scarf, thermal collar and gloves (for the most sensitive, it is interesting to combine the use of the thermal glove and the leather).
